18 Injured as Bus Collides with Parked Truck on Mumbai-Pune Expressway Near Khopoli

Raigad (Maharashtra): Eighteen passengers sustained injuries, eight of them critically, when a private bus traveling from Kolhapur to Mumbai collided with a stationary truck on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway near Khopoli in Raigad district early Saturday morning (November 9). According to police, the accident occurred around 4 AM as the bus driver reportedly lost control, resulting in a severe impact with the parked truck.
The injured passengers were rushed to MGM Hospital in Kamothe, Raigad, where the condition of eight passengers, including four women, is reported to be critical, officials said.
Following the crash, traffic on the busy expressway was temporarily disrupted, though authorities swiftly moved to clear the congestion and restore normalcy to the route.
Khopoli police have launched a probe into the incident to determine the exact cause of the crash, an official stated.
