All India Nau Sainik Camp Concludes at INS Shivaji Lonavala, MP & Chhattisgarh Directorate Clinches Overall Championship; Maharashtra Cadet Named Best Girl Cadet, Assam Cadet Wins Best Boy Cadet

Lonavala (MimTimes): The National Cadet Corps' (NCC) flagship annual training programme for Naval Wing cadets, All India Nau Sainik Camp (AINSC) 2026, concluded successfully at INS Shivaji, Lonavala. Organised by the NCC Directorate Maharashtra on behalf of the Headquarters Directorate General NCC, the camp brought together the country's finest Naval Wing cadets for intensive military training, maritime skill development, leadership enhancement and national integration.
The closing ceremony was reviewed by Major General Vivek Tyagi, Additional Director General, NCC Directorate Maharashtra, in the presence of Commodore S. Parthiban, Commanding Officer, INS Shivaji. Senior officers and staff from the Maharashtra NCC Directorate and INS Shivaji also attended the event.
Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh Directorate emerged as the Overall Champion, securing the coveted Championship Trophy through consistently outstanding performances across various competitive events. Cadet Teeya Rajesh Awale of Maharashtra Directorate was adjudged the Best Girl Cadet, while Cadet Sodha Rajveer Singh of Assam Directorate received the Best Boy Cadet award.
The camp witnessed the participation of 612 Naval Wing NCC cadets, including 204 girl cadets, representing all 17 NCC Directorates from across the country.
A major highlight of the camp was the visit of Lieutenant General Virendra Vats, YSM, SM, VSM, Director General, NCC, who praised the cadets for their discipline, enthusiasm and dedication. During an interactive session, he shared experiences from his distinguished military career and encouraged the cadets to uphold the values of leadership, integrity, perseverance and selfless service in their journey towards nation-building.
Throughout the camp, cadets competed in demanding naval disciplines, including Boat Pulling, Drill, Semaphore (Visual Signalling), Firing and Ship Modelling, demonstrating exceptional professionalism, precision and teamwork. They also underwent practical training in drone operations, cyber security, maritime navigation, firefighting and damage control, survival at sea, communication procedures, naval leadership and seamanship through hands-on interactions with naval personnel.
The successful conduct of AINSC 2026 once again reaffirmed the National Cadet Corps' commitment to nurturing disciplined, skilled and nationally conscious youth while promoting maritime awareness, leadership and the spirit of service among the future leaders of the nation.
