BMC Launches Digital Application System for Bakra and Baffalo Slaughter Permission

Mumbai, In preparation for the upcoming Bakri Eid festival, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has introduced a digital solution for citizens to obtain religious slaughter permissions through the MyBMC mobile application.

The new feature allows residents to apply for goat or sheep slaughter permissions directly from their Android devices, streamlining the previously manual process. Users can select their slaughter location from a map, choose from recognized markets or private premises, and upload necessary documents like NOC and identity proof.

Citizens must select their pincode, provide address details, and specify the number and date of sacrifice. Upon submission, a 9-digit application number is generated, and the applicant is notified via SMS and email. The application is subject to scrutiny, and the final approval status is communicated through the same channels.

Officials from the Deonar Abattoir have emphasized the importance of using this system to ensure hygienic and regulated religious practices during the festival.

This initiative marks a significant step towards digitizing civic services and ensuring a smooth and compliant Bakri Eid celebration in Mumbai.
