Central Railway Mega Block on December 15, 2024


Mumbai: Central Railway will conduct a Mega Block on Sunday, December 15, 2024, to carry out important maintenance work on suburban routes. This will affect train services on the Main Line, Harbour Line, and Trans-Harbour Line.


On the Main Line, a block will be in place between Vidyavihar and Thane stations from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm. Some UP Mail/Express trains heading towards Mumbai will be diverted onto the fast line at Thane and then back to the 6th line at Vidyavihar. These trains will arrive 10-15 minutes late. Similarly, DOWN Mail/Express trains leaving Mumbai will be diverted onto the fast line at Vidyavihar and back at Thane, also running 10-15 minutes late.



For the Harbour Line, services between Panvel and Vashi will remain cancelled from 11:05 am to 4:05 pm. UP Harbour line trains from Panvel to CSMT, departing between 10:33 am and 3:49 pm, and DOWN trains from CSMT to Panvel/Belapur, departing between 9:45 am and 3:12 pm, will not operate during this period.


On the Trans-Harbour Line, services between Panvel and Thane will be cancelled from 11:02 am to 3:53 pm. Trains from Panvel to Thane and from Thane to Panvel will not run during this time.



To help passengers, special local trains will run between CSMT and Vashi. Trans-Harbour services will continue between Thane and Vashi/Nerul, and PORT line trains will operate between Belapur/Nerul and Uran.


Passengers are requested to plan their travel accordingly. The Railway Administration has urged commuters to cooperate, as this maintenance work is essential for improving safety and infrastructure.
