Demolition Drive Begins at Kamala Mills Compound: Illegal Structures Taken Down

Mumbai, A demolition action was initiated today at the Kamala Mill Compound in Lower Parel as part of a crackdown on unauthorized constructions and encroachments within the premises.
According to sources present at the site, the operation was carried out under the supervision of civic officials and involved the following actions:
• Demolition of the boundary wall fence at BKT House, C Building.
• Removal of fencing structures at the popular Bira Restaurant.
• Demolition of shed and fencing at Toast Pasta Café, another frequented eatery in the area.
The action comes in the wake of repeated warnings issued to property owners and commercial establishments allegedly violating municipal norms. Officials stated that the structures being demolished had either encroached upon public space or lacked proper permissions.
The Kamala Mills compound, known for its high-end restaurants, pubs, and corporate offices, has been under the scanner since past incidents highlighting fire safety and structural violations.
Further inspections and enforcement measures are expected to continue in the coming days.
