GJEPC Announces New Leadership: Kirit Bhansali Appointed as Chairman, Shaunak Parikh as Vice Chairman

National, The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), India’s apex trade body for the sector, has announced its new leadership team following the conclusion of the COA Election 2024. Mr. Kirit Bhansali has been appointed as Chairman, while Mr. Shaunak Parikh will take on the role of Vice Chairman. Additionally, the Council has constituted a new Committee of Administration (COA) to steer the industry forward.
Speaking on his appointment, Mr. Kirit Bhansali, Chairman of GJEPC, expressed his commitment to driving transformative growth for India’s gem and jewellery sector. He outlined a vision focused on strategic initiatives, innovative projects, and collaborative efforts. Highlighting key developments, he emphasized flagship projects such as the India Jewellery Park in Mumbai and the Gem Bourse in Jaipur, as well as international expansions like Saudijex in Saudi Arabia and IJEX Dubai.
“Our goal is to position India as a global leader in technology, design, and manufacturing. By leveraging our strengths, we aspire to achieve an ambitious export target of USD 100 billion by 2047, aligning with our Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of a Viksit Bharat,” Mr. Bhansali stated.
He further elaborated on GJEPC’s commitment to sustaining India’s global leadership in the industry, capitalizing on domestic market opportunities, and advocating for favorable policies. The Council has identified 17 key industry clusters based on their size, potential, and strategic location, with plans to develop them into thriving export hubs.
Mr. Shaunak Parikh, Vice Chairman of GJEPC, expressed gratitude to industry members for their trust and support. “This is a crucial time for our industry, requiring bold vision and decisive action. We must focus on category promotion across all verticals, infrastructure development, skill enhancement, and adopting global standards to ensure our industry remains competitive on the world stage,” he remarked.
Mr. Parikh also emphasized the Council’s close collaboration with the government to shape policies that drive growth while addressing key concerns of exporters in an evolving global market.
The new leadership at GJEPC is expected to spearhead initiatives that will strengthen India’s presence in the international gem and jewellery industry, fostering innovation and sustainability while ensuring continued growth and competitiveness.
