Indian Navy Gears Up for Navy Day 2024

Mumbai, Dec 3: The Indian Navy is all set to celebrate Navy Day 2024 with pride and enthusiasm. As part of the celebrations, Vice Admiral Sanjay J Singh, Commander-in-Chief of the Western Naval Command, spoke to the media onboard the stealth destroyer INS Mormugao in Mumbai today.
Vice Admiral Singh shared details about the Navy’s efforts to protect India’s seas and national interests. He talked about key achievements, including:
Operation Sankalp to secure shipping routes.
International exercises with other navies.
Anti-piracy and anti-drug operations.
Providing disaster relief and humanitarian aid.
Promoting environmental protection.
Answering media questions, he explained how the Navy is improving coastal defence, adopting new technology like artificial intelligence, and building more indigenous warships. He also discussed plans to enhance cyber security and expand naval capabilities.
Navy Day, celebrated every year on December 4, marks a proud moment in history when Indian naval forces attacked Karachi port during the 1971 war, showcasing their bravery and skill.
This year’s celebrations will include events like operational demonstrations, community programs, and more, aimed at inspiring citizens and showcasing the Navy’s dedication to protecting the nation.
