The Maharashtra Government has appealed to madrasa managements and minority educational institutions to apply for financial assistance under the Dr. Zakir Hussain Madrasa Modernization Scheme by November 14.
The scheme aims to improve facilities in madrasas, junior colleges, industrial training institutes (ITIs), and schools for differently-abled students. Institutions can seek support for infrastructure such as classrooms, furniture, electricity, water supply, and sanitation facilities.
District Minority Affairs Officer Sanjay Kumar Shinde said that the scheme is open only to madrasas registered with the State Waqf Board or the Deputy Charity Commissioner’s Office. Madrasas already benefiting from any central government modernization scheme are not eligible.
