Prayagraj: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated projects worth ₹5,500 crore in Prayagraj on Friday to prepare for the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, one of the world’s largest spiritual gatherings.

PM Modi described the Maha Kumbh as a festival of faith and unity, where millions of people come together to celebrate India’s cultural and spiritual heritage.

Key Projects Announced

The Prime Minister launched several development projects to ensure a smooth and memorable experience for pilgrims:

  • Better Connectivity: Construction of 10 new flyovers, roads, and ghats to make travel easier.

  • Clean Ganga Mission: New systems to stop untreated water from flowing into the Ganga River.

  • Temple Corridors: Upgrades to important religious sites like Akshayvat, Hanuman Mandir, and Bharadwaj Ashram.

  • AI Chatbot for Pilgrims: A new “Kumbh Sah’AI’yak” chatbot to provide updates and assistance in 11 Indian languages.

Unity Through Faith

PM Modi called the Maha Kumbh a "MahaYagya of unity," bringing together people from all regions, castes, and languages. He said it represents the idea of "Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat" (One India, Great India).

Economic Opportunities

The Kumbh is expected to boost the local economy, creating jobs for boatmen, shopkeepers, and workers involved in managing the event. Pilgrims will also contribute to businesses in surrounding areas.

Preserving Heritage and Driving Progress

PM Modi emphasized the government’s efforts to preserve India’s traditions while ensuring development. He highlighted successful projects like the Vishwanath Dham in Varanasi and the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya as examples of blending heritage with modern facilities.

The Prime Minister praised the hard work of sanitation workers, police, and organizers, thanking them for their efforts to make the Maha Kumbh a success.

The event was attended by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and other leaders. With these preparations, Prayagraj is ready to welcome millions of pilgrims for a historic Maha Kumbh in 2025.
