Reliance Industries Takes Over Lakadia B Power Transmission Project from RECPDCL

New Delhi, February 15, 2025: REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a subsidiary of REC Limited under the Ministry of Power, officially handed over the Lakadia B Power Transmission Limited project to Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) on February 14, 2025, in Gurugram.
RIL won the project through a competitive bidding process and will develop it on a Build, Own, Operate & Transfer (BOOT) basis over the next 24 months.
At the handover ceremony, Shri T.S.C. Bosh, CEO, RECPDCL, transferred the project to Shri N. Vaidyanathan, Senior Vice President, RIL, in the presence of senior officials from RECPDCL, Reliance Industries, and Central Transmission Utility of India Limited.
The project aims to increase power transmission capacity at the Lakadia Pooling Station in Gujarat, helping to evacuate renewable energy from power plants. The estimated cost of the project is ₹512.58 crore.
This initiative will strengthen India’s power grid and support the country’s transition to clean energy.
