Mumbai, October 19, 2024: The Model Code of Conduct (MCC) for the 2024 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections came into force on October 15, 2024. In the first three days since its implementation, the Election Commission received a total of 420 complaints through the C-Vigil app, out of which 414 have already been resolved. Impressively, 256 complaints were addressed within a swift span of 100 minutes. Thane district emerged as the top performer in resolving the highest number of complaints.

The C-Vigil app has been a key tool for the public to report violations of the MCC, ensuring prompt action by authorities. The rapid resolution of complaints highlights the commitment of the Election Commission to uphold fair practices during the election period.

Additionally, since the enforcement of the MCC, various state government agencies have conducted raids and seized property worth ₹1,064 lakh. The confiscated items include illegal cash, liquor, drugs, and precious metals. These actions underscore the efforts of the authorities to maintain a free and fair election environment, clamping down on any illegal activities aimed at influencing voters.

With elections scheduled soon, the vigilance of enforcement agencies and the responsiveness to public complaints have set the tone for a stringent and transparent electoral process in Maharashtra.
