Fire in Chembur's Sidharth Colony Leaves 7 Dead

On the morning of October 6, 2024, a fire broke out at approximately 5:20 AM in a shop located at Plot No. 16/1, Sidharth Colony, K. N. Gaikwad Marg, Chembur (E). The incident was reported by the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB), with updates coming in at 8:55 AM.
The fire, classified as Level I, was mainly confined to the electric wiring and installations within the shop. Emergency services quickly responded to the scene, deploying a team that included 1 Divisional Fire Officer (DFO), 1 Assistant Divisional Fire Officer (ADFO), 2 Station Officers, 4 Fire Engineers, 1 Mobile Fire Team (MFT), and 1 Water Tanker Vehicle (WQRV), along with 2 Junior Technicians (JT), 1 Assistant Engineer Maintenance (AE Maint), and 10 laborers.
Tragically, the incident resulted in the loss of seven lives. The victims, all declared brought dead upon arrival at Rajawadi Hospital, were identified as:
Prem Gupta (Female, 6 years old)
Manju Prem Gupta (Female, 30 years old)
Anita Dharmdev Gupta (Female, 39 years old)
Prem Chediram Gupta (Male, 30 years old)
Narendra Gupta (Male, 10 years old)
Vidhi Chediram Gupta (Female, 15 years old)
Gitadevi Dharamdev Gupta (Female, 60 years old)
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire. Our thoughts are with the families affected by this tragic incident.
