Mumbai, A significant leakage was reported early this morning on the Tansa West Water Pipeline near the Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR) Bridge in Powai. The pipeline, which serves as a critical source of water supply to various areas, was immediately shut down by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to prevent further damage.

Repair work on the pipeline has commenced on an urgent basis and is expected to take approximately 24 hours to complete. During this period, water supply from Powai to Dharavi through the Tansa pipeline will remain suspended, causing disruptions in the S Ward, K-East Ward, G-North Ward, and H-East Ward.

The BMC has appealed to citizens in the affected areas to use water judiciously during this time. Efforts are being made to ensure the repair is completed swiftly and the water supply is restored at the earliest.

Residents are advised to store adequate water and follow updates from the BMC for further information.
